International News Bulletin: Major Global Updates from J&K to Iran, US, and Russia-Ukraine War
Latest International News July 2026: From a major anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir, to massive funeral preparations in Iran, a strong statement from US President Donald Trump, and a big relief announcement from the Indian government on natural gas supply — here is the complete global news roundup.
1. Jammu and Kashmir: Two High-Profile Lashkar Terrorists Trapped in Shopian
In a major development from Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have trapped two high-profile terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization in Shopian district.
The encounter began in the Mimantar area, inside an orchard where the two terrorists were hiding. Security agencies have identified them as Zakir from Kulgam and Lateef. Zakir is categorized as an "A++" terrorist.
The "A++" category is the most dangerous list maintained by security agencies. It includes top commanders of terrorist organizations and masterminds of attacks.
According to reports, Zakir joined Lashkar in 2024 and Lateef joined in 2025. Both were receiving funding and weapons from Pakistan. The Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF have launched a massive joint operation. All escape routes from the orchard have been sealed.
Zakir Ghani has multiple terror cases registered against him. In October 2025, an NIA court had issued a proclamation notice against him. But he did not surrender.
2. Iran: Massive Preparations for Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral, 3000 Deaths Feared
German media outlet Welt has reported that the Iranian government is preparing for the deaths of up to 3000 people during the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Officials expect a massive crowd. Due to stampedes, overcrowding, and heat, Iranian authorities estimate between 1500 to 3000 people could die. This is a worst-case estimation.
Municipal authorities have put ambulances, hospitals, morgues, and emergency teams on standby. A special unit has been formed to handle the dead and missing. Thousands of graves have already been prepared. The estimated crowd is around 20 million people.
In Tehran, more than 7 million people used the metro between Saturday 5:30 PM and Sunday 7:00 AM. Final prayers are being held at Imam Khomeini Musalla. His sons Masoud, Meysam, and Mustafa are present.
The funeral has also seen massive anger against the US and Israel. Protesters are chanting slogans and holding posters against Trump and Netanyahu.
3. Donald Trump’s Big Statement on Iran
US President Donald Trump said, “During the funeral, all major Iranian leaders are gathered in one place. If we wanted, we could have taken them all out in one strike. But we are not doing that because then there will be no one left to sign a peace deal.”
He also claimed Iran is now "begging" to make a deal with the US.
Iran responded sharply. The Iranian embassy in Armenia posted, “You have no civilization, no history, and no respect.”
Iran also announced service charges on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Allied countries will get special discounts. Iran’s ambassador to China said this is a service fee for ship security and environmental protection.
4. India: Big Relief on Natural Gas Supply
The central government has withdrawn restrictions on natural gas supply. Earlier in March, due to fears of a gas shortage because of the Gulf war, the government had imposed strict orders.
Now, with LNG transport through the Strait of Hormuz resuming, gas companies can freely supply LNG to everyone.
India is the 4th largest buyer of LNG in the world. 41% of India’s LNG comes from Qatar. In the last financial year, India bought 27 million tonnes of gas, out of which 11.2 million tonnes came from Qatar.
5. Trump on Netanyahu and US-Israel Relations
Trump said, “Netanyahu and I are very close. He knows very well who the boss is.”
He also revealed that Netanyahu has requested to meet him at the White House next week.
6. US Independence Day: PM Modi Sends Greetings
On July 4th, America celebrated its 250th Independence Day. PM Narendra Modi posted, “India and America are not just strategic partners. Both countries believe in democracy. May America prosper for the next 250 years.”
The US Embassy in Delhi released a special video featuring Sunita Williams and AR Rahman. Trump at the National Mall said, “We will always be number one. America can never become a communist country.”
7. Protests in Albania Against Trump Family Resort
In Albania, over 10,000 people protested against a $4.66 billion luxury hotel project by Trump’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law. Protesters say the project will harm the environment. The protest is called the "Flamingo Revolution".
